[Where?... What? Where is she? What is going on? Leanne wakes up in a startled motion and looks around. Wait a minute, why was her clothes there and why is she wearing underwear (AKA the cotton sundress)?! She reaches over to her dress, moving to her knees.... Only to stumble at the action and faceplant a little, her wings flapping with much gusto before returning to their limp state.

Leanne shakily moves herself to a half standing position, reaching up to rub at her face. How long... How long has she been asleep and why can't she hear the trees anymore? She blinks and goes to examine her hands and arms.... They are so long and big! She blinks a few more times before shaking her head, letting out a few bird chirps. No, she can admiring how big she has gotten just yet! First she needs to remaster the technique of walking again!

Okay, one more try! She can do this! She moves to fully stand up, waving a little as she stands. YES! She has gotten the first step, being able to stand again. Now comes the hardest part... Walking. She goes to take one deep breath and moves a foot to take one single step... Only to stumble and fall flat on her face again in a flurry of feathers before the video shuts off.]

Wrong? [He's startled briefly before he shakes his head firmly.] No, I'm fine. I-- Uh, I'm just surprised by your ... politeness. [Best way to put it.] I'm not used to being called "my lord."

We're occasionally experimented on here and sometimes dragged into other people's battles, but we're mostly just expected to follow orders until we're sent home. [Until. He doesn't mention that some people had been trapped for years.]

[Her blush does finally fade and she couldn't help to smile again, even letting out a small chuckle from the antics of the nestling's actions.]

I am glad that there is nothing wrong with my lord. I can try and change my speech pattern if my lord finds it offending.

[Though wow... That isn't.... That isn't so good and she couldn't help but to droop her wings a little, not liking the sound of either battle or being experimented on.]

..... Is there any warning when these things happen?

There's warnings for the battles, but not the experiments. [He's had to answer the question for past New Feathers, so it's easy enough to answer.] But it's usually fairly obvious within the first day that there's an experiment going on.

[That out of the way, he moves on to her offer.] You don't have to, but... Well, you can call me by my name instead. My name is Leon -- Leon D.S. Geeste.

I am glad that there is at least a warning for one of them. [Her wings remain drooped as it does take less energy to keep them like that.] I take it that the experiments are never the same type.

[She goes to smile even more and lets out a few chirps as he introduces himself.]

That is a fine name, my lord Leon. I am Leanne, princess of the heron clan of my world.

[His ears twitch curiously at the way she chirps, his eyes widening in surprise as she introduces herself.] It's nice to meet you, Princess. It seems strange to call me 'lord' when you're a princess yourself.

[To her question, he shakes his head.] They're rarely the same, except for this one event in February... In February, people inevitably end up falling in love with each other.

[It was now that she notices those ears and she suddenly perks up a little, letting out a few happy chirps.] It is a pleasure and honor to meet you, my lord Leon. Is it strange? Should I try and just call you by your name then?

[She really didn't wish to offend him. But then his answers and especially the mentioning of such an experiment, she blushes and her eyes widen a little.] Wha- How can they toy with such things in people? Especially with something like that.

[She seems so happy considering her situation, making those chirping sounds. It's funnily endearing, considering the songbirds had quieted with the turn to colder weather.] I-- Yes, please, just call me by my name. I don't think I'll be getting used to being called 'my lord' anytime soon. [He laughs at his own awkwardness, feeling a bit better that she seems embarrassed as well.]

I really don't understand it, but supposedly the experiments are attempts to trigger an effect that sends us back to our home worlds.

[Seeing anyone who isn't a human was more then enough reason to be happy. Though she hasn't seen many of the beast type of laguz, it was still quite the welcoming sight to her.

Her chirps continues for a couple more minutes before dying down.] I shall try then, Leon.

[The blushing isn't going to fade away for a bit.] What a strange way for that to happen. Why couldn't they just send us back the same way they have taken us?

[He smiles as she uses his name without the title, already feeling a little better.] Thank you, Princess.

[However, the smile quickly slips as he talks about their situation.] We've been told that they can't send us back because they, the Malnosso Organization, weren't the ones who brought us here. Something about this world pulls people in, supposedly, and we're the "lucky" ones who somehow randomly manage to get sent back to our worlds. There's other people in other parts of this world who have been here for lifetimes.

[She gains a confused expression but listens as he explains what is going on.]

How can such a thing be? If we were to find out how we were brought here then and only then can the way home be discovered. But yet.... For those that have remained here... What would become of them and would they want to return to their homes?
