FFXIV AU
It was a usual day for Leanne. Sending off adventurers and guild mates to do various quests while she hangs around the crystal. One particular adventurer she sees multiple times was a rather handsome Miqo'te male, named Saga. He always seem to ignore her warnings and offerings of help... Only to end up back at the crystal in need of healing. It was almost like clockwork.
The female Miqo'te female was glad for the choice to become a healer as she was never bored and she was almost always needed. If they can deal with her small amount of sass.
It was evening time again and time for the last bit of adventurers to appear at the crystal again. There were already healers there waiting and to share the workload and Leanne goes to wait. Wait for Saga, heal him and then head back to her quarters at the guild. Once he appears, she will just walk up to him with a smirk.
"How bad is it this time, big fella?"

The sun is setting, painting the sky red and orange to herald evening. He appears in a flash of white light and he woke up near the crystal in the central plaza of the city. The last moment he remembered is being head-butted by a big monster in the cave and becoming overpowered, he managed to cast the return spell just in time before it becomes any more fatal.
He opens his golden eyes and blows a stray bang out of his face. He recognized the Miqo'te female, Leanne, the healer. She is always there in the evenings to heal others without asking for anything in return for compensation. What Leanne knows of him is that he tends to fight alone solo without any help or forming a proper party mostly out of stubbornness and pride as a war disciple to become stronger as Saga can fight and endure for long periods of time until he gave out.
"I'm fine, everything is fine." Of course, he is fine, already he's up on his feet and standing. "Just a scratch and a bruise, but nothing serious. I didn't need your help." He did have minor scratches that need tending to and washing his wounds up. "It wasn't so bad..." He muttered.
no subject
"You are not hiding anything from me aren't ya?" She isn't one to trust his 'I'm fines' and goes to poke him with her staff to test and see if he was truly fine. And she heard his muttering, a first for her.
Her own eyes goes to study him before she lets out a long suffering sigh. "Come on, lets head to the usual spot. There is no shame in admitting that you need a little help, Saga." She spoke in as gentle and warm of a voice she could possibly mutter. "Especially if you just get scratches and even scratches need tending to. It would be a crime if anything bad happened to such a handsome face and perfect body. And no, I won't take no for an answer."
And to prove her point, she goes to cast a small healing spell. "And dinner should be about ready as well. Stew, bread and tea, no beer as there is a bar that can supply all of that." A brief pause as she remembers something from her previous encounters with the prideful warrior. "And I won't take any type of payment, ya hear?"
She will wait for him to start moving before leading the way back to her room. Though she will give him a bright and gentle smile as they walk. She... She will forever keep it a secret at how happy it made her feel that he finally confessed about being hurt.
no subject
"No, I'm not hiding anything else. See?" He stands tall and make a gesture. "Maybe a few scratches and bruises, but nothing else. No broken bones or anything." But she can clearly some scratches and scrapes on his arms. His face and clothes a little grimy and muddy from the running through the creek.
For his stubbornness, he finally relented with a mild shrug. "All right. I'm not perfect, not by a long shot. I'm hungry anyway. Is there anything to eat? I didn't have anything for hours since I left this afternoon."
The bright glow of her healing spell feels warm as his wounds are slowly healed and sealed up, leaving no blemish on his skin. He inspects it and he really does feel better. "Yeah, that stew, bread, and tea sound good." He doesn't drink spirits unless there's a social occasion.
"I have to pay you back somehow." He said. "I don't like to owe favors."
At the promise of dinner, he is famished, so he follows her along on the path through the city to her preferred location. Bight shops and guilds and homes aligned the streets as they walked together.
no subject
"That is only your opinion." About him not being perfect. "I will take a closer look at those when we head to the usual spot." She purrs out.
A small sigh leaves her and shakes her head. "No, you don't owe me anything or 'have to pay me back'." All of the air quotes as her tail lifts and twitches to match the gesture.
"Just take of yourself and see me if you are hurt." It won't be long until they reach her guild's building and then her room.
"But if you must, then take me out of a date." A brief pause as she realizes what she just said. "Just kidding but really, you don't have to pay me back. You don't owe me a favor."
no subject
"A date...? Huh. Are you sure? Oh. Nevermind." He's mildly confused for a moment, and then pretends to be dismissive when she said just kidding. "Right, whatever you say. I just want to eat. I'm hungry." After following her through the town. His stomach gurgles from the hunger, but he's well-to-do and well paid. He saved up a lot of gill, so money never really troubles him.
The guild building is in sight, the lanterns shines brightly. The facility carries all the happiness and warmth that a cozy inn can offer, small shops with their merchants sellings common and necessary wares from potions to antidotes, a room for training for rookies and new sprouts.
There's the hall where the maids can be seen, carrying food freshly cooked from the kitchen to travelers.
"Can we find a seat and eat now?" He asked. "The food smells really good, so I'm thinking of eating fish. What about you?"
no subject
"Yes, I am sure." Just please don't notice her blush as she realizes that he is serious enough to do just that! "Then you are in luck! As long as you are with me, you can eat at the finest kitchens in all the city!" She was proud of her guild and all the staff working within it.
She giggles as his question and smiles brightly up at him. "Of course! Let's find ourselves a table." And with that, she reaches over to try and take one of his hands to hurriedly find a table and sit down.
"Fish also sound good. Perhaps a salad to go with it as well. But the stew today is said to be one of the best ever made." Yes, she is being a little cheek as she idly purrs.
no subject
He finds a table and picks a seat. The restaurant inn is a super busy place with other warriors around chattering, some followed by their pets at their heels. Saga has yet to find a pet as he isn't a pet keeping type, but he has acquired a chocobo recently that aids him in his travels.
"I'll try the stew with the fish too." Eventually as one of the inn waitresses came by to take their order. Stew, fish, salad, fresh dinner rolls with butter, and a glass of chilled cider to go with the season as the town was decorated with pumpkins and jack o lanterns.
As they were waiting for their order, his disappointment of defeat from the last dungeon simmered down along with his stubbornness and temper. "Well. Leanne, I didn't have the chance to properly thank you." If she doesn't take payment, at least she gets to hear his humbled gratitude. "So, you have my gratitude."
no subject
Leanne smiles as she listens to all the chitter around them as she sits down. All the pets were cute and she loved seeing all of them.
"You won't be disappointed I promise." She purrs with a playful wink. Her smile doesn't fade as he orders. A small tease from the waitress before she goes to take the order in.
At his words, she blushes and goes to fidget with a lock of hair. "I guess... That I can accept it. But, it isn't needed." So much blushing that goes to the tip of her ears. "Perhaps you can bring me along for your next dungeon? Then I can keep you going and help keep your handsome face unscathed."
no subject
When he's nearing eating half-way, he paused, thinking about it. "I'll be going another round after this to finish a mission for the guild. If you want to come along and have no fear, then you could. We can split the gil half and half. I just need to fetch some ingredients to bring it to the soldiers for their tomorrow's breakfast."
no subject
She blinks before giggling and shaking her head. "What fear would I have with you around? I just worry for your face but I will gladly join you."
And with that, she focuses on eating, smiling quite a bit. "What time are you planning to leave? Just so I can be properly prepared."
no subject
"Don't worry about my face. I'll be fine. It can take a few punches." He's that strong and sturdy.
"In an hour. Then I'll get my choboco ready. The area can be a little dangerous because there's a nest nearby, so we must be prepared to fight as well."
no subject
His words only made her giggle even moreso. "I am glad, otherwise I would be sad."
"An hour?!? That is rather soon." A small whine before she focuses on eating albeit at a faster pace. "Okay. I can fight even a little bit. I will have to find a chocobo to rent."
no subject
"If you're coming along, you better know some shield spells for defense. Some of these monsters can scratch and bite. The same can be said if they injured you and your beauty."
He shakes his head, "Yeah, you need to rent one. I have one from the company. My chocobo is a strong and sturdy bird."
no subject
So much purring at that.
And DAMNIT SAGA!! SHE IS TRYING TO WILL AWAY HER BLUSH!! By now, it has reached to her ear tips.
"Be-Bea-Beauty?!?" Nope, she isn't gonna win the battle against her blushing face. "I know a couple of shield spells..."
At the mentioning at renting, she quickly shakes her head and moves at once to start that process. "Ah I can find one! I-I will meet you at the gates! You better be prepared within the hour."
no subject
From the table, he's already up and going. He paid his tab and leaves a tip and then picked up his weapon and knapsack. Just one more round of a trip to finish a mission and he'll call it a night.
"All right. See you at the gate." He said.
Every town has a chocobo porter where they kept the birds in the shed by their porter. They can either be taken to a town where the bird knows where to go or for a fee, rent for a few hours.
Once Leanne find a choboco of her, it's matter of catching up to him and his birdm at the gate waiting for her.
"Hey, you didn't take long. Are we ready to go?" He's already up on the saddle on top of his bird with a reign in his hands.
no subject
A small sigh leaves her as they got up and paid their tabs and tips. He was really focused on his mission, perhaps with her, he will be able to finally finish it.
"Don't be late."
After careful selecting, Leanne finally found her ideal chocobo to rent, smiling as she always adored the birds. She loads it up with her own supplies after paying the fee before riding it to the gate.
"Well, you said an hour and I didn't need much. The longest part was picking the chocobo." She beams, the blush had vanished after separating from him. "Lead the way and I will stay close."
*cue chocobo theme song*
As to what he's saving gil for, he was hoping for a house and an airship of his own, but he's far from his goal, but he's confident it's obtainable.
With a nod, Saga doubled check the straps and buckled straps of the bridle to make sure it's in place. The birds are very domesticated and tame.
"These birds can go very fast. I think we'll make it in there in half an hour." He put a foot on a strap and hopped onto the seat.
With a click of his tongue and a light tap of his foot, the bird went. "Follow me." He said as the bird make long strides with his long legs on the path through the forest, over the bridges, and to their destination.
Kweh!
Leanne purrs and twitches her tail before giggling. "I think you are forgetting that I used to be an adventurer myself."
A small kick as she was riding only slightly behind him, smiling. It felt like such a long time she did something like this. It was quite the missed feeling, the thrill of heading out into the world with a companion.
".... Thank you...."
no subject
The chocobos comes with a bridle and straps. It was a fast stroll through the forest. The birds chirped, they can run fast with high endurance but after running for a while and losing their wind they gotten tired by the time they reach the forest.
"We're here." Saga said as they arrived at their destination. He hopped off and he took a moment to readjust his weaponary which is a one-handed sword.
"With you by my side, we can turn the tide of battle. The monsters in this area is a bit strong, but I can hold out if you support me."
no subject
The ride itself, it felt so good to be on the back of a chocobo again. She closes her eyes for a moment, trusting the bird to follow the other as she focuses on just feeling the wing through her hair and ears, her tail curling as she purrs.
It felt too short of a time when Saga announced their arrival. Leanne blinks and slides off of her mount, making sure that her wand was still at her hip.
"Gotcha. I will provide support when I can. I know some offensive spells as well. Don't worry about me, I will keep you safe and healed." A wink as her ears wiggle a little. Also don't mind her tail brushed against his as she moves stand next to him.
no subject
Once he's off the bird and speaking of the battle plan. "All right." She's a white mage and had formal training from the guild.
He smiles softly back. He sways and curls his tail around her tail briefly, perhaps teasing that he purred back. So drawing his weapon out, "On my signal. I'm going in."
Feeling a sense of confidence in his battle morale, wanting to prove himself and perhaps impress her with his strength, he then charging in a random monster and begins fighting one or a few at a time, trusting she has his back as he does the fighting and getting his endurance tested.
no subject
There was a bit of pride that goes through her as it seems like he is fully trusting in her abilities.
The pride vanishes as she feels his tail curled around hers and yup! She is blushing again. It was brief but it was enough to make her heart beat faster. "Alright, I will let you know if you need to pull back."
Her ears perked when she watches him charge and she follows him at a distance, stopping to stay out of harms way but not too far to cast her healing spells on him. Whenever she could, she was very much watching him fight and seeing just how strong he was. It was to the point that it was almost distracting. Almost as whenever a monster tried to gain up on him, she will make sure that her offensive spells deterred that line of thought. She can hold her own until he can come and take care of the monster.
no subject
With ease, his endurance being tested, he slayed the enemies on the field easily enough. In marvel, he does so easily, but each time he felt drain, he felt her magic healing spells work, so he could fight better and longer.
With their corpses fell on the ground, every target slain. He laughed, "Leanne, we did it." He said with a surge of pride at their victory. "I couldn't have done it with you." Of course, he had been fighting recklessly when he goes solo, but having a teammate is a different feeling all together.
With a grin, without thinking, with a joy, he came over with much excitement. "What about you? Are you all right?" Without much thinking, his tail curled around hers. "I think it's a good time to head back to town to rest and recover."
no subject
By the time the last monster fell, she was panting a little, even sweating a little but the sight of Saga being alright causes her to beam a little. "We did it!" She laughed as well, raising a sleeve to wipe the sweat off of her brow. She had noticed how reckless he was but she figured that was always his fighting style.
"Not with the way you were fighting." She teases a little with her laughter. There was pride that she hasn't lot her grit when it came to adventuring.
She was about to answer his questions when she felt his tail curling around hers and yup! There is that blush. "I am alright, just a little worn as I haven't done something like this in a while." She nods her head but doesn't move as she doesn't want their tails to detangle from each other. "That sounds good. Do you have a room? If not, we can rest at mine.... If you want to."
no subject
"I really appreciate it. That's why healers are sorely needed." He can see that she needs time to recuperate her energy from the extensive use of magic. "Yes, you seem tired. I am tired too. When you're out of practice, your magic can burn you out quickly."
He looks up to the sky to see the moon is coming out and the sky is becoming dark. His tail didn't let go of hers.
"Yes, I have a room at the inn. I'll escort you back safely so to make sure you won't get attacked on the trail." With a tug of her tail with his, he offers his hand to hold hers to walk all the way.
